Using your Danish qualifications abroad

If you need recognition of your Danish qualifications for studying or working in another country, you must follow the rules that apply in that country. This page gives you some advice on making your Danish qualifications clearly understood.

Studying abroad

If you are interested in studying outside Denmark, it is normally the institution to which you seek admission that will assess your Danish qualifications.

You may ask for information at the national recognition information office (see below).

Working abroad

If you want to work outside Denmark, you should first find out whether your occupation is regulated in that country.

If the profession is not regulated, you are free to seek employment. In some countries you can apply for an assessment of your qualifications. You can get further information from the national recognition information office (see the section below).

If the profession is regulated, you need to have your qualifications officially recognised by the competent authority.

Regulated professions in the EU/EEA

If you are a citizen of an EU or EEA country, you have certain specific rights in the other EU/EEA Member States. Visit the websites of the European Commission to find out:
