About the publication

The annual commercialisation survey illustrates the efforts and performance of public research institutions in technology transfer.

At a national scale, the new data for 2010 reveal general progress. In relation to 2009, it is notable that the number of new license, sales and options agreements and spinout businesses has risen significantly, while the number of patent applications has fallen slightly.

The institutions' expenses for protection of rights have dropped, while earnings have increased yet again, so that the balance now shows a profit of about 68 million Danish kroner.

Meanwhile, behind the national level of performance, there were major differences in the development at an institutional level.

Data for 2010 have been collected via a questionnaire that complies with the standards in the field.
