About DFF | Technology and Production Sciences
The Council covers basic research within technology and production which is motivated by a concrete problem or has a clear practical perspective and which is aimed at solving this problem, developing new technologies and new production systems, or at new ways of meeting the needs of society.
The Council allocates research grants to researchers working within these areas. Furthermore, the Council provides scientific advice in relation to technical scientific issues. Advice is given according to request or on the Council's own initiative.
Furthermore, the Council contributes to strengthening communication and use of research results and participates in international cooperation.
The Danish Council for Independent Research annually publishes a call inviting researchers to apply for funding for research activities within the scientific areas of the Council. The call is to include information about requirements and guidelines for applications to The Danish Council for Independent Research | Technology and Production Sciences.
The Council's 18 members are acknowledged researchers appointed by the Minister for Higher Education and Science in their own personal capacity.
