We want to create excellent education and research

Education, research and innovation are of crucial importance to the individual, as well as our society. In the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, we want to create a solid foundation for higher education and for research. For knowledge and prosperity today and in the future.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Science's new strategy ”Excellent education and research – an incubator for the future” provides the overall framework for the ministry's work until 2020.

The strategy outlines six concrete indicators that we will particularly focus on to achieve our vision of strong growth and new insight through excellent education and research.

The strategy has been developed in collaboration with managers, employees and collaborative partners. We are grateful for the variety of valuable input. Now the important work begins to translate our great ambitions to reality and make the strategy flourish in our daily work. We have described our indicators and success factors in greater detail here. We look forward to implementing our strategy together with our talented employees and collaborative partners.

Strategy lays out a common direction

The strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science lays out a common direction for our work until 2020. The strategy has three levels. A mission, which describes how we perceive our absolutely fundamental role in society. A vision, which expresses our long-term ambitions. And a number of indicators, which will support us in achieving our vision.

Vision

Strong growth and new insight through excellent education and research.

Core tasks

The ministry has three core tasks that it carries out on behalf of Danish society, and which are fundamental to our daily work. The three core tasks are:

  1. To assist the minister and government with the development of education, research and innovation policies.
  2. To implement the government's policy in the education, research and innovation areas.
  3. To create value by solving our operation tasks efficiently.

Indicators

The ministry has chosen six strategic indicators for the period 2016-2020. The indicators are our concrete objectives and will help us realise our vision to create strong growth and new insight through excellent education and research.

To know what is worth knowing about education and research

Values

To achieve the most from our strategy we have identified five values that will characterise our work and culture in the ministry. The five values are also an expression for how we wish to be seen by the rest of the world.
