New Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Higher Education and Science

Hanne Meldgaard is currently Director in the Policy Department in the Ministry of Higher Education and Science’s department. She will begin her position as Permanent Secretary 1 January 2020.

Minister for Higher Education and Science Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen states:

I am very pleased that Hanne Meldgaard is the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. Hanne has been in the Ministry for many years and is extremely knowledgeable of its workings. She has great professional insight in both the area of education policy and the area of research policy. Hanne is very competent and I am convinced that she is the right person to lead the important tasks that await the Ministry. Besides her professional qualifications, Hanne also has the personal qualities needed in this leading role. She has a strong relational understanding and is particularly equipped with a calm and steady hand, as well as the drive needed to lead this area.

The future Permanent Secretary Hanne Meldgaard states:

Higher Education and science is an important part of the solution to a number of the great societal challenges that we face. I am very honoured and pleased to lead this area. I am looking forward to continuing the fine cooperation with the minister, the employees in the ministry, the higher education and research institutions and all the other actors and partners within the area.

Hanne Meldgaard was born in 1977 and has a Master of Law from the University of Copenhagen from 2004.
