The director of the Danish Institute in Damascus is expected to return to Denmark
March 28, 2012
Chairman of the board John Kuhlmann Madsen has announced that the director for the Danish Institute in Damascus, Anders Hastrup, will leave Syria from 1 April 2012.
The decision has been made in agreement with the board and the director. The institute will close temporarily due to the security situation in Syria.
The Higher Education Ministry takes note of the decision.
The institute's activities in Syria have been suspended since 1 March 2012 due to the annual renovation of the building housing the institute.
