In the period 26 to 29 August the Minister for Higher Education and Science Sofie Carsten Nielsen visits Nuuk and Sisimiut in Greenland.

Here she will meet with the colleagues Nick Nielsen and Kim Kielsen who are Ministers for Education, Church, Culture & Gender and Minister for Nature and Environment, respectively.

Access to Danish educations

During the journey the Danish and Greenlandic ministers sign an agreement which ensures that Greenlandic students continuously have access to higher education programmes in Denmark. At the same time, an existing agreement between Denmark and Greenland regarding research-based counselling within the area of raw materials will be renewed.

The journey also includes visits to Greenland’s education and research institutions such as Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, University of Greenland and Arctic Technology Centre where Denmark and Greenland cooperate on educating arctic engineers.
