Peter Høngaard Andersen named as new director of the Danish National Innovation Foundation
Peter Høngaard Andersen has been employed as director of the newly established Danish National Innovation Foundation from 5 May 2014.
On behalf of the board, Jens Maaløe welcomes the addition of Peter Høngaard Andersen and looks forward to future cooperation. He highlights that Peter Høngaard Andersen has more than 25 years leadership experience, most recently in his position as Executive Vice President of Research at Lundbeck with hundreds of employees in the multinational organisation.
In his positions, Peter Høngaard Andersen has had responsibility for research and development activities, as well as significant scientific production. He joins the Foundation from his current position as Interim CEO in the European Brain Council (EBC).
The Danish National Innovation Foundation was established 1 April 2014 and will award grants to activities within strategic research, technological development and innovation. The Foundation’s budget in 2014 is almost DKK 1.6 billion.

- The Danish National Innovation Foundation is an independent body in the state administration.
- The Foundation is aimed at the business community and will particularly support solutions to concrete societal challenges and increase research and innovation efforts within companies.
- The Foundation will also cultivate central research areas through targeted investments and focus on meeting society’s demand for new products and innovative solutions to concrete societal challenges.
