Dane appointed Vice President of The European Research Council

Professor Klaus Bock has been appointed Vice President of The European Research Council (ERC). With this appointment Klaus Bock will be in charge of the domain Physical Sciences and Engineering.

From PhD to Vice President

  Klaus Bock who holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Technical University of Denmark, has been a member of the ERC Scientific Council since February 2013. With the appointment to Vice President, he will become a member of the top of the ERC.

About the position as Vice President

Professor Klaus Bock shall hold the position as Vice President in the domain Physical Sciences and Engineering as of 1 January 2016.

Klaus Bock will be one of the three Vice Presidents of the ERC. Together with the President of the ERC and the Director the ERC Executive Agency (ERCEA), Klaus Bock will also be member of the ERC Board.

As Vice President Klaus Bock shall take part in the realisation of the ambitious ERC strategy on world class research, and oversee the implementation of the workprogrammes established by the Scientific Council.

The ERC accounts for approximately 17% of the 75 billions Euro budget for the EU research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020.
