Nine researchers in Denmark receive prestigious grants from ERC
The European Research Council has published the names of the grantees in the latest round of Consolidator Grants – a programme dedicated to the more experienced researchers, who are about to manifest their research and research career. In average, each researcher receives a grant of DKK 15 million.
Record-breaking number of grants
The result is positive for Denmark: Nine researchers have received a prestigious grant. After the first round of applications in 2013, six researchers in Denmark received a Consolidator Grant.

The nine Consolidator Grant projects are divided between three sciences:

The European Research Council (ERC)
The ERC offer funding for ground-breaking research projects of highest scientific quality within all research areas and topics. Talented researchers from all over the world can receive funding for excellent research in Europe.
The three main programmes of the ERC; Starting Grant, Consolidator Grant og Advanced Grant offer funding for excellent researchers at different career levels. ERC Consolidator Grant offer funding for researchers with 7-12 years of experience after achieving a ph.d. degree.
The ERC totals approximately 17 % of the budget of Horizon 2020, EU’s Research and Innovation Programme.
