New growth markets as India are important export markets for Danish enterprises, important purchasers of Danish innovation solutions and important partners with regard to investing in research and innovation.

Tuesday 22 May 2018 Minister for Higher Education and Science Tommy Ahlers and his Indian counterpart Harsh Vardhan signed a government agreement that shall make it easier for Danish and Indian institutions, authorities and private enterprises to enter into research, technology development and innovation collaborations.

The new agreement on collaboration is in line with the Government’s political research and innovation strategy where Danish research should rank among the global elite. In order to reach this a boost in international collaboration can help develop and build the necessary capacity.

After signing of the cooperative agreement the future collaboration was formalised in a three-year action plan where among others the Innovation Fund in 2018 will grant DKK 15 million to research and innovation projects within energy and water in cooperation with their Indian partners.
