Prestigious ERC grants worth DKK 112 million award to Denmark
In the latest application round, 222 top researchers across Europe from 29 different countries have received an ERC Advanced Grant, totally DKK 4.03 billion for their excellent and ground-breaking research projects. The ERC has evaluated 2,052 applications, of which approx. 11 percent have successfully received grant funding.
The ERC’s Advanced Grants are aimed at experienced top researchers who have contributed significant scientific results within their research area in the last 10 years. The grants amount to approx. DKK 18.7 million and are for a five-year period.
The University of Copenhagen has received three, the Technical University of Denmark has received to and Aarhus University has received one of these prestigious European research grants. The six researchers at the Danish universities now have the opportunity to gather a strong team and begin their projects with approx. DKK 18.7 million in support for the next five years. The grants in Denmark are categorised by three within ”Physical Sciences and Engineering Sciences”, two within ”Social Sciences and Humanities” and one within ”Biosciences”.
