The Danish EU Presidency offers exciting conferences
15 May 2025
Under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science alone, for example, ten EU Presidency conferences are being held, organised by Danish knowledge institutions and regions. This gives Denmark a unique opportunity to highlight, for instance, how the EU can best attract and retain research talent in Europe, what the healthcare system of the future might look like, why innovation and research and technology infrastructures are a prerequisite for Europe’s competitiveness, and how space research can contribute to a greener and safer world.
In addition, a number of conferences are being held under the remit of other ministries, also focusing on highly topical issues and agendas within research, education, and innovation — including quantum technology, digitalisation, and bioeconomy.
Programme and registration
We expect the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official website for the EU Presidency to launch in mid-June. From there, you will find more information about the conferences and how to register. So keep an eye on:

Space Conference 2025 under the Danish EU Presidency: Space Sustainability, Autonomy and Competitiveness
20-21 October 2025, Aalborg
The conference will address, among other topics, the opportunities and challenges for European space policy and space programmes. In addition, there will be discussions on how space plays a role in relation to European resilience, competitiveness, and sustainability, as well as the impact of developments in the space sector for Europe and Denmark.
