COVID-19: Higher education students to be sent home
The authorities are working to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Denmark to the best possible extent, in order to limit the consequences of the virus. This includes protecting particularly vulnerable groups and avoiding placing too great a pressure on the capacity of the healthcare system.
One measure is to send all higher education students home for an initial two week period from Friday March 13, 2020. And is the case for all other public sector employees, employees at higher education institutions will be sent home as soon as possible for an initial two week period from Friday March 13. Only employees essential for critical functions, should be physically present at the institutions.
All physical study activities at the institutions will stop.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Science requires students to continue their studies and thereby by actively studying at home in so far as it is possible. SU payments to students will therefore continue uninterrupted.
The recommendation to both students and employees in this extraordinary situation is to display a sense of public spirit and follow the ongoing recommendations from the health authorities and other authorities on public movement i.e. limited social contact.
If you as a student are in doubt about your situation, you should contact your educational institution.
Employees are referred to their own institutions and can submit further questions via the Ministry's mail address: info-covid19@ufm.dk.
