Call to suspend cooperation with Russia and Belarus
The Minister for Higher Education and Science has written to all educational institutions, calling on them to suspend all educational, research and innovation cooperation with institutions in Russia and Belarus.
Today, the Minister for Higher Education and Science, Jesper Petersen, has written to all educational institutions, calling on them - in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine - to suspend all research and innovation cooperation with institutions in Russia and Belarus, and to refrain from initiating new exchanges with institutions in Russia and Belarus.
- I call on all universities and higher education institutions to suspend their cooperation with institutions in Russia and Belarus. This will be a clear signal that military aggression results in isolation from the international community. The Government condemns the actions of Russia and Belarus and pledges its support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, says the Minister for Higher Education and Science, Jesper Petersen.
This request applies particularly to cooperation with parties affiliated to Russian and Belarusian state agencies.
The Minister calls on institutions that may still have students studying in Russia and Belarus to contact these students and offer them any help they may need, including repatriation. It is important they make sure that they are on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Danish citizens list, and that they closely monitor the Ministry's travel instructions for Russia, which are updated regularly.
