Conference on The Global Research Village

: October 15, 1996
: 1996

About the publication

The purpose of this Conference is to examine the issue of Information Technology as a factor in the re-definition of individual and collective government responsibilities towards the global science system.

Information technology (IT) is now one of the most important resources available to science, and, historically, the involvement of the science community in computing and computer networking has benefited substantially from many forms of public sector support.

The form that this support may take in future could have profound implications for the science system as a knowledge resource.
