About the publication

In December 1996, the Danish government adopted a national strategy for research.

The strategy was created in an open process, where considerations was paid to the views of the world of research itself, to those of the users of research results and of the research policy system.

The strategy thus takes account of the conditions and framework for research and consideration has been paid to the need for freedom and self-administration in the world of research.
