About the publication
In February 1999 the Danish Government adopted a National Strategy for Materials Research. The Strategy was developed in an open process, with involvement of researchers and industry.
Denmark holds a leading-edge position in materials research – also in international terms. This position has been created during the past ten years through the Materials Technology Programmes and through close co-operation between public research and research in private industry.
The materials research strategy aims to maintain a high level of Danish research in this field by strengthening the organisational structure of the research and by giving priority to selected areas of particular importance to society in the allocation of funds.
