Technology Foresight on Danish Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

Towards 2020, Denmark is to be amongst the absolute world leaders in regards to the mastery of nanotechnology within selected areas and its translation into industrial application, increased growth and employment, and solutions for important societal needs.

If the vision is to be a reality, in the first place a considerable increase in funding for nanoscientific and nanotechnological research is required.

Second, a conscious focusing on the development of high technology in Danish enterprises will be needed.

Third, making the vision a reality requires that Danish nanotechnological development is coordinated across the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the research advisory and grant-awarding system.
