Inter-ministerial working group

-
Representatives from concerned citizens' groups in the local areas of: Thyholm (Jutland), Skive (Jutland), Kerteminde (Funen), Roskilde (Zealand), Rødby (Island of Lolland) and Island of Bornholm. Following the Danish Parliament's adoption of Parliamentary Resolution B90/2018, all concerned citizens' groups except Roskilde have been reorganised into a national organisation: The Concerned Citizens' Group for The Responsible Management of Denmark's Radioactive Waste
-
Representatives from NGOs: Danish Nature Conservation Society, Greenpeace Denmark and NOAH Friends of the Earth Denmark

Local Contact Fora
Following the Danish Parliament's adoption of the policies proposed in Parliamentary Resolution B90/2018, the contact forum model will be offered to any local community that wants a local communication process on radioactive waste management. Local contact fora are expected to be relevant for local communities that will be involved in the localisation process regarding a disposal facility.
The local contact forum may consist of local as well as national stakeholders. The forum set-up is flexible and participating stakeholders may vary according to the context of local community. The subjects to be discussed are decided by the forum. In principle, any subject is open for consideration by the forum as long as it is connected to the management of radioactive waste, or to the effects of the same.
The facilitation of the forum will take place in a collaboration between municipal authorities and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Expenses relating to the meetings of a local contact forum are covered by Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
The first local contact forum was established in Roskilde Municipality in 2019 in acknowledgement of the pivotal role that the Risoe-location would continue to have in the future radioactive waste management in Denmark. The Risoe-location will host an upgraded long-term storage facility until a disposal facility is established and approved for operation.
As of March 2020, the members of Local Contact Forum Roskilde are:
- Roskilde City Council: 4 members
- Roskilde Municipal Administration: 2 members
- Veddelev Concerned Citizens' and Landowners' Association (neighbours to the Risoe location): 3 members
- Danish Society for Conservation of Nature - Roskilde Chapter: 1 member
- NOAH Friends of the Earth Denmark: 1 member
- Greenpeace Denmark: 1 member
- The Concerned Citizens' Group for The Responsible Management of Denmark's Radioactive Waste: 1 member
- Danish Decommissioning: 3 members
- Geological Survey of Denmark and Greeland: 2 members
- Danish Emergency Management Agency, Nuclear Division: 1 member
- Tecnical University Denmark (DTU): 1 member
- Aarhus University: 1 member
- Ministry of Higher Education and Science: 1 member
The meetings of Local Contact Forum Roskilde take place quarterly in the town hall of Roskilde Municitality. The proceedings of the Forum are published (in Danish only) on the website of Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
