About Into Change Award

The Into Change Award honours outstanding European research groups whose work drives scientific breakthroughs, benefits society, and reflects core values like curiosity, collaboration, and openness. Submissions for nominations open on 1 June 2025 and close on 1 August 2025 at 12:00 CET 

In 2025, the total award amount is DKK 8,000,000. Each named member of the winning research group receives an honorary award of DKK 100,000, while the remaining funds is awarded as a framework grant for distribution between the group members.

Who Can Be Nominated

  • Groups of researchers from institutions in Europe consisting of 2 to 8 named members
  • Eligible across all fields of science and research

Other criteria

  • No self-nomination
  • Members must be active researchers.
  • The group must be affiliated with European institutions

Submissions for nominations open on 01 June 2025 and close on 01 August 2025 at 12:00 CET

Assessment Criteria

Nominees must have demonstrated ground-breaking scientific contributions or insights that have had significant impact on their research field.

Nominees must have demonstrated central societal significance and/or impact.

This includes contributions that benefit the environment, security, democracy, or competitiveness. as well as contributions to public debate, welfare and services.

Nominees are expected to have demonstrated key scientific values in the work for which they are nominated: scientific curiosity, collaboration, responsibility and accountability, respect for each other and other actors/entities, and openness in research.
