The Danish Council for Strategic Research participates in a joint call under the Joint Programming Initiative Water, and the council has allocated up to 500.000 € to Danish participation.
The Pilot Call aims at enabling multi-national, collaborative research, development and innovation projects addressing the topic “Emerging water contaminants – anthropogenic pollutants and pathogens”. At least one of the three themes listed below shall be addressed by applicants:
- Identification and prevention of emerging freshwater contaminants
- Control, mitigation and methods for treatment and removal
- Impacts on ecosystem services and human health
Besides Denmark, there is participation from funding bodies from Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal and Spain.
The total public funding available for transnational research projects is expected to be around nine million €.
