Storage of data
When using the e-grant system, the system will automatically register certain data. When you create a user profile or edit data at e-grant.dk, your identity, IP address and the time and date are registered—after which the executed action is received by the solution.
Data is stored in the system for up to 5 years.
Applicant’s responsibility
The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the information in e-grant is correct, that the required exhibits are annexed to the application, that the contents of the exhibits are accurate, and that the application has been transmitted before the deadline specified in the notice under which the application is made.
Technical disclaimer
The Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation is obligated to disclose any errors that make the e-grant system unavailable and thus affect the applicant’s ability to submit applications before a given application deadline.
Such unavailability will be stated on the Agency's website. In particularly serious cases, the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation may extend the application deadline for all applicants concerned. This will also be announced on the website.
The Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation cannot be held liable for misstatements that result from software, calculations, and transmission errors, etc. or any claims for damages that result from the erroneous use of the e-grant system.
Data Protection Act
Under the Danish Data Protection Act (Act no. 429 of 31 May 2000), you have certain rights when data about you is processed electronically. Therefore, please note that you, upon request, are entitled to access and, if relevant, amend personal information when such information is handled electronically. Once the application has been submitted, you will not be able to correct any of the contents of your electronic application other than personal data.
Correct completion
It is important that you ensure that you choose the correct form and that you complete the application correctly. The notices (calls for proposals) will specify which specific types of formal deficiencies in the application that will cause it to be rejected administratively and thus not reviewed.
It is therefore important that you meet all the formal requirements listed in the notice, so that your application can be submitted for review on its merits by the Council/programme committee.
Authorities' retrieval of other data
The Council/Committee/Council/Agency reserves the right to obtain information related to any previous and current applications submitted to the research councils under The Danish Council for Independent Research, the programme committees under the Danish Council for Strategic Research, The Danish Council for Technology and Innovation and/or the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation.
These data may form part of the application review. If applications for funding have been or will be submitted elsewhere, the Research Council/programme committee/selection committee reserves the right to request information on whether such funding has been granted.
Publication
In the event that you are awarded funding, in full or in part, your name and any project participants’ names, as well as details about the venue, title and duration of the project, any key figures for the grant and the amount of the grant will be published in the Danish Research Database and posted on the website of the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation.
Moreover, a scientific description of the project for laymen may be posted to the same sites. Names and project titles of applicants who have not received grants will not be published. However, under the Danish Access to Public Administrative Files Act such records as lists of all applicants' names and project titles will be open for public records requests. You should therefore ensure that the project title does not contain any information about the project you do not wish to have disclosed to the public.
Accessibility (WAI and browser accessibility)
e-grant has completed a number of tests of the application's accessibility. The success criterion for accessibility of e-grant is that the system meets the mandatory standards for public websites, including WAI Level AA requirements.
e-grant is not quite yet in compliance with these standards but efforts are continuously being made to meet the mandatory standards in the area. In practice, this means that persons with visual impairment are currently unable to access the solution without a support person who can read aloud the form to the user. In the event that you, because of e-grant's lack of accessibility, are having difficulties using the solution, you can contact the Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation for assistance to complete and submit your application.
You can contact us at support.e-grant@fi.dk. e-grant has been tested across various operating systems and by using various browsers in various combinations. The e-grant system is accessible in most combinations.
