UFM's efforts to promote Danish-Brazilian research and education cooperation in Brazil are supported by a Memorandum of Understanding, which the then Minister of Science signed with his Brazilian counterpart on 17 February 2011.
Brazil is one of the world's leading food-producing countries. The green transition places new and greater demands on, among other things, sustainable production conditions and food safety - areas in which Danish universities and researchers have built up considerable expertise over several years.
Research in agriculture and food in both countries makes Brazil a particularly interesting partner for Denmark, and was one of the reasons why Denmark signed a cooperation agreement with the Brazilian Ministry of Research in 2011.
