Seeking admission to an unemployment fund

Some unemployment funds require a foreign education assessment before admitting new members. We recommend that you ask the unemployment fund if they require such an assessment in order to admit you.

The unemployment fund decides on admission based on its own criteria. However, the unemployment fund must consider your educational qualifications on the basis of an assessment by the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science if such an assessment has been made.

This means that if we have assessed your qualifications to be comparable to a particular Danish level of education, the unemployment fund cannot refuse admission on the grounds that you have not completed a qualification at that level.

The assessment normally takes 1-2 months from the time we receive the application and the required documentation.

The assessment is free of charge, but it does not include translation of documents.
