About the talk "What is the ESA Rosetta mission about?" by Matt Taylor, the European Space Agency (ESA)

The aim of the ESA Rosetta Mission is to answer questions on the evolution of our solar system by studying comet 67-P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko in intimate detail for over a year. In 2014 Rosetta became the first mission to rendezvous with a comet and in November 2014, the lander Philae became the first device to land on a comet and perform in-situ science on the surface. This year, 2015, is the main phase of the Rosetta mission, as it escorts the comet towards, through and away from perihelion. This talk will summarise the mission up to now operationally and scientifically as well as what the future has to hold.

The talk is the first out of a number of talks in English about the “Space journey – Denmark in Space”

When ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen begins his journey to the International Space Station as the first Dane in space, the public is invited to a number of unique and free talks about Denmark and the international cooperation in space.

The talks are a result of cooperation between The Confederation of Danish Industry, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.

The talks are held 5 to 6 p.m. on week days in the period 31 August to 11 September.

Registration cannot be made. The seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis so be there early. The venue seats 100 people.
