About the council

The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy (DFIR) was established on 1 April 2014. The Council was set up, charged with the responsibility of providing policymakers with independent and expert advice on research, technological development and innovation.

The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy (DFIR) was set up, charged with the responsibility of providing the Minister of Higher Education and Science and others with independent and expert advice on research, technological development and innovation at system level. The responsibility comprises both the research policy and innovation policy advice, which were earlier placed with the Danish Council for Research Policy and the Danish Council for Technology and Innovation.

The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy publishes an annual report each year. The annual report compiles reports on the projects and activities which DFIR has conducted during the previous year.
