In connection with the survey "Universities for the future", The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy processes personal data.
The processing of personal data takes place in accordance with the rules in the Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act.

1. Collection of personal and contact information
The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy has obtained information about you from your employer (Aarhus University, Aalborg University, Roskilde University, University of Copenhagen, University of Southern Denmark, Copenhagen Business School, Technical University of Denmark, IT University), i.e. name, email address, position and department in order to be able to contact you about participation in the study.
The personal data is collected on the basis of Article 6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation, pursuant to which processing is lawful if:
”processing is necessary for the execution of a task which is in the interest of society".
The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy has assessed that the study "Universities for the future" is a task in the public interest. There is thus authority to obtain the requested information cf. the data protection regulation art. 6 pieces. 1, letter e.
If you choose to participate in the survey, your information will be processed as described below.

4. Purpose and legal basis
The overall purpose of the study is to investigate whether the sector's current management and funding structure provides universities and researchers with the best conditions for carrying out their core tasks.
The legal basis for the Danish Research and Innovation Policy Council's processing of your personal data follows from:
Data Protection Regulation art. 6 pieces. 1, letter e, according to which a processing is lawful if it is necessary for the performance of a task in the interest of society, or if it belongs to the exercise of public authority that the data controller has been tasked with.
5. Categories of personal data
The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy processes the following categories of personal data about you:
- Contact information consisting of your name, email address, position category, department and university.
- Answers from the survey concerning management and employee involvement, freedom of research, research funding and knowledge exchange and dissemination.
6. Where does the personal data come from?
The personal information comes from:
- Your contact and identification information has been obtained from your employer, i.e. Aarhus University, Aalborg University, Roskilde University, University of Copenhagen, University of Southern Denmark, Copenhagen Business School, Technical University of Denmark, IT University.
- Information from the survey originates from you.
7. Disclosure of your personal data
The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy shares data at an aggregated level, e.g. at position or faculty level, with other organizations with an interest and capacity to analyze Danish research policy, e.g. the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters.
8. Transfer to recipients in third countries
No personal data is transferred to third countries.
9. Storage of personal data
We store your personal data until the end of the survey in spring 2023. Your answers from the investigation is journalized according to the rules in the Public Administration Act and will be submitted to the National Archives according to the rules in the Danish register legislation (every 5 years). After submission to the National Archives, a copy is kept in the ministry for up to 5 years after which the information is deleted in the ministry.
10. Your rights
You have a number of rights in relation to the Danish Research and Innovation Policy Council's processing of information about you. A. Right to see information (right of access)
You have the right to access the processing of your information. This means that, with certain exceptions, you have the right to find out whether the authority is processing information about you, and if so, to see the information.
B. Right to rectification (rectification)
You have the right to have incorrect information about yourself corrected.

In special cases, you have the right to have information about you deleted before the time of the general general deletion.
D. Right to restriction of processing
In certain cases, you have the right to have the processing of your personal data restricted.
