Introduction to Civil Security for Society

The Security Programme funds research in a number of security issues – from research in terrorism to protection from natural disasters .

What is Funded?

The Security Programme funds projects that work to protect the security for EU’s citizens. The application must give an answer to the research and innovations issues stated in the call. The Programme is divided into six destinations:

  1. Better protect the EU and its Citizens against Crime and Terrorism
  2. Effective management of EU external borders
  3. Resilient Infrastructure
  4. Increased Cybersecurity
  5. Disaster Resilient Society for Europe
  6. SSRI (Strengthened Security Research and Innovation).

Who can Apply?

Universities, research and technology organisations, other research institutions, small- and medium-sized enterprises and large companies, organisations as well as university colleges.

Requirements for Applicants

An application is often written with a consortium with participants from more EU countries, since most calls require participation from more countries. Often a consortium must have participants from at least three EU countries or associated countries to the EU. Some calls can have more specific demands.
