Global Innovation Network Programme

The Global Innovation Network Programme (GINP) supports networking activities between Danish and international research and innovation actors.


The programme is part of the Ministry's efforts to internationalize Danish research and innovation. The programme enables applicants from Denmark to establish relationships and carry out networking activities with relevant stakeholders primarily from non-European countries. Cooperation with the following countries is a priority: Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Israel, Japan, China, Switzerland, United Kingdom, South Korea and/or the United States.

Who can apply?

The following stakeholders and organizational units from Denmark are eligible applicants under GINP:

  • Research and Technology Organizations (RTO, in Danish ”GTS-institutter”)
  • National Cluster Organizations (in Danish “nationale klyngeorganisationer”)
  • Individual Departments at Universities (in Danish ‘institutter’)
  • Publicly owned hospitals with research under the five regions
  • Other Higher Educations Institutions with research under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science
  • Other government funded institutions with research under a Ministry of the Government of Denmark

What can be supported by this grant?

You can apply for funding for networking activities carried out in cooperation with partners from countries outside the EU and the European Economic Area.

GINP supports international networking activities, such as:

  • Workshops, seminars, conferences
  • Summer/winter schools
  • Training programs
  • Delegation visits
  • Long term stay(s)

NB! The grant cannot be used for salaries or purchase of equipment.

When will you be able to apply?

In coming years, the call is expected to be published in the first quarter of the year, with a deadline for applications in May-June. The programme is financed by the yearly Finance Act. Thus, calls will only be made in case funds are made available.

Assessment process

The funds are allocated by the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science. The applications will be assessed by an Assessment Committee. The members in this committee are appointed by the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science.


For projects of more than 12 months duration, a mid-term report must be submitted to the Agency. The mid-term report must be based on the activity plan submitted in the application. In the form you will find a column marked in blue, which must be filled in with a short status of the specified activities.
The form must be submitted via E-grant.
