Training Record Books for Seagoing Service

Training record books for seagoing service –published by the Danish Agency for Higher Education.

It is a prerequisite for having seagoing service/training approved for further maritime education or a certificate of competency that a Training Record Book is used.

The training officer or master on board the ship where the student/trainee is completing their practical training or gaining sea service must verify that each task has been carried out by signing the Training Record Book in the designated sections.

Afterwards, the Training Record Book must be approved by the maritime educational institution where the student is enrolled.

The Training Record Book serves as documentation that the required learning objectives for the practical training have been achieved.

The Danish Maritime Authority does not approve the Training Record Book itself, but must see documentation from the educational institution confirming that the book has been approved, in cases where seagoing service and an approved Training Record Book are required after completion of the education.

Note
