Today, many research infrastructures are often so complex, advanced and costly that one country cannot on its own establish them. For a country the size of Denmark this means that without strong international collaboration and commitment, it would be impossible to grant Danish researchers access to many important research infrastructures.
Therefore, Denmark participates in international collaboration on research infrastructures within many diverse scientific disciplines. Danish memberships of international research infrastructures offer Danish researchers access to unique international research facilities.
