New name: Higher Education Ministry

The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education will informally be known as the Higher Education Ministry, while Morten Østergaard will be known as the Higher Education Minister.

An increased area of responsibility has resulted in the creation of a new ministry and therefore a new name. The new Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education with Morten Østergaard as minister will informally be known as the Higher Education Ministry.

The new name signals that the ministry covers a far broader spectrum than just long-cycle higher education. Academies of professional higher education, the SU field (the Danish students' Grants and Loans Scheme), professional Bachelor's degrees and numerous artistic programmes now fall under the responsibility of the same ministry as university programmes.
