As part of the implementation of the Danish Strategy for space research and innovation’s Initiative 8, the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science (UFS) will together with the European Space Agency (ESA) support the development of new commercial space solutions that address specific challenges. One of these challenges is advanced agricultural monitoring and management.
The development of such commercial solutions will be supported through ESA’s ARTES BASS programme element in the form of demonstration projects and feasibility studies that shall be carried out in a public-private partnership with the Danish Agency for Green Transition and Aquatic Environment (SGAV).
An ESA call targeted Danish entities will be announced late May. In continuation hereof, UFS invites interested entities to participate in a workshop together with SGAV and ESA on 16 June. The aim of the workshop will be to discuss the opportunities, the call poses, with the user of the solutions, SGAV, and ESA, as well as give interested parties an occasion to network.
More details on the workshop as well as specifics on the opportunity will be announced with the call at the end of May, but save the date already now.
The other leg of the implementation of Initiative 8 will address emergency management, and it will be executed through a different call. Detailed information about this call and its associated workshop will follow soon.
