Changes in the use of Elite Research Prizes and Elite Research Travel Grants due to COVID-19

The development of the international situation on COVID-19 means that Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education will understand the urgent need for changes in the use of Elite Research Prizes and Elite Research Travel Grants, typically by changing or shortening the stay at a foreign research institution.

For an assessment of the specific case, please contact Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education at eliteforsk@ufm.dk.

Information for recipients of Elite Research Travel Grants 2019 and 2020

For recipients of an Elite Research Travel Grant in 2019 and 2020. Due to the extraordinary situation as a result COVID-19, a dispensation can be granted for the use of the grant up to one year after the awarding of the PhD degree, as long as it can be justified that the use of the grant during the PhD education has been hindered due to COVID-19.

The use of the travel grant after the awarding of the PhD degree still has to follow the current guidelines for what the scholarship can be used for; cf. the call’s section 5. Furthermore, the activities should still have a relation to the grant recipient’s PhD education.

Request for a change of the grant period has to be submitted via e-grant. The request should include a description of why the use of the grant has been hindered due to COVID-19 and describe the use of the grant in the extended grant period.

For questions or an assessment of the specific case, please contact Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education at eliteforsk@ufm.
