ERA-NETtet ELECTROMOBILITY+ har til formål at etablere langtidsholdbare betingelser for udvikling af løsninger til overgangen fra benzindreven til el-dreven mobilitet i Europa.
Øget bevidsthed om klimaændringer og det presserende behov for at forberede sig på en post-benzin fremtid har fået en række europæiske lande til at intensivere forskning og demonstration inden for energieffektive og fossiluafhængige transportsystemer. Der er særlig stor interesse for el, der potentielt kan være banebrydende løsning.
ERA-NET PLUS ELECTROMOBILITY+ udmøntede i 2012 et samlet opslag på 30 millioner € til forskning, demonstration og innovation inden for elektromobilitet. 13 lande og regioner bidrog til opslaget. Samlet finansierer de 20 millioner €, mens EU-Kommissionen supplerer med yderligere 10 millioner €.
Det Strategiske Forskningsråds bidrog med ca. 7,5 mio. kr til seks projekter med dansk deltagelse. EU bidrog med ca. 9,7 mio. til de seks projekter. Dermed har de danskere forskere samlet modtaget 17,2 mio. kr.
