Webinar 4: ESA Strategy 2040: Elevate the future of European space: Strengthen European Autonomy and resilience

ESA’s focus is on space as an overlay seamlessly integrated with terrestrial telecommunication networks to enhance coverage, resilience and security of communications with citizens, governments and critical infrastructure over land, air and sea, including areas affected by natural and human-made disasters.  ESA will focus on securing autonomous access and mobility in space by developing state-of-the-art and scalable transportation systems, reliable and competitive, free from external dependencies.

ESA will in addition work in cooperation with the EU for the preparation, implementation, maintenance and future enhancement of the backbone EU space infrastructures in Earth Observation, Navigation and Telecommunication domains for governmental services or for the provision of services that are crucial in support of European critical infrastructures.

This will create a strong foundation for secure and fast communications, hyper-precise navigation, and enhanced security, supporting Europe’s resilience and sovereignty and strengthening the competitive position of European players in established commercial markets.
