Invitation: Machine Learning in Space

The IT University of Copenhagen and the Pioneer Centre for AI at Copenhagen University invite you to explore the opportunities for educational and research activities using Machine Learning in Space. Today ML applications are onboard autonomous satellites as well as and in collective constellations

  • Hvornår 29. september 2023 fra 09:30 til 12:30
  • Hvor Pioneer Centre for AI, located in the Observatory in the Botanical Garden in Copenhagen

The meeting is aiming to kick-start the activity “Machine Learning in Space” as part of the activities in the Danish Partnership for Space Related Education. In 2020 the collaboration of the partnership was behind the successful DISCO student satellite programme launching the first DISCOsat carrying an ML-enabled payload, with a target application of identifying and classifying cosmic radiation.

Now the partnership would like to explore further opportunities for research and education activities in the field of Machine Learning in Space, in particular, but not limited to, embedded ML in satellites, and the partnership hope to identify actors and possible joint activities and synergies.

Universities, private sector, agencies and everyone interested in this topic are invited for a first exchange.
