ISSI/ISSI-BJ Joint Call for Proposals 2021 for International Teams in Space and Earth Sciences
The International Space Science Institute (ISSI) in Bern, Switzerland, and ISSI-BJ in Beijing, China invite proposals for establishing International Teams to conduct on its premises research activities in Space Sciences, based on the interdisciplinary analysis and evaluation of data.

Ny publikation fra Styrelsen for Dataforsyning og Effektivisering om 50 forskellige opgaver, som verdens største satellitprogram Copernicus løser i bl.a. Danmark og Grønland. Odense har fx kortlagt diger og områder langs Odense Fjord og i det centrale Odense til brug for kommunens klimatilpasning.

Den første DISCO satellit gøres klar til opsendelse med Space X
Selve satellitten leveres af det nordjyske firma Space Inventor, men det bliver studerende på fire universiteter, som nu skal udstyre satellitten med en række mindre eksperimenter og desuden få den til at fungere som kommunikationsstation for radioamatører over hele verden.

Den nye ESA vejrsatellit får en vigtig rolle med at levere eftertragtede data om temperatur og luftfugtighed i Arktis. Den sendes efter planen op i 2024 og vil herefter fra en polar bane kunne bidrage til både hurtigere og mere nøjagtige vejrprognoser for Arktis

Vild med rummet – ny læringsportal går live
Den 17. marts lancerede DTU sin nye læringsportal, Vild med rummet, med seneste viden om jorden, stjernerne, planeterne, rumteknologi, astronauter, big bang og klimaet. Dem der kan glæde sig til at tage sitet i brug er rumnørder, børn og unge, deres lærere og forældre.
“Mission completed” for studentersatellitten Delphini 1
Søndag den 14. marts 2021 brændte Delphini-1 op i atmosfæren. Det er enden på alle lovlydige satellitter og derfor en god historie. Delphini-1 har været en kæmpe succes, og forhåbentlig lever Delphini 1 nu videre som uudslettelig viden hos de studerende.
Rumaffald rydder overskrifterne
I takt med at antallet af opsendelser til det ydre rum stiger år for år, og de første store satellitkonstellationer er under konstruktion, rettes opmærksomheden i stigende grad mod bagsiden af medaljen – rumaffald.

Mange af vinderne kunne slet ikke programmere, da de gik i gang! Stort tillykke til de danske hold, som ESA har tildelt Mission Space Lab Flight Status. De får nu sendt deres forsøg til ISS, hvor de kan blive overvåget af ESA-astronaut Thomas Pesquet, der flyver til ISS i morgen den 23. april.

Ny strategi for dansk forsvarsindustri
Strategien udpeger bl.a. rumteknologier til overvågning og kommunikation som teknologier af kritisk betydning for militære operationer. Strategien vil også styrke forsknings- og innovationssamarbejdet på tværs af traditionelle sektorskel mellem forsvar, rum og civil højteknologi.

Ny studenter satellit skal i rummet med crowdfunding
Danske studerende på fire danske universiteter er nu klar til at kickstarte næste etape af det nationale studentersatellitprogram DISCO. Den kommende crowdfundede mini-satellit DISCO2, skal have tre kameraer og studere klimaforandringer i Arktis.

Two conferences on Additive Manufacturing in Space in March
No less than two European conferences on 3D printing in space will take place in March 2022: 1st International Conference on Additive Manufacturing for Air, Space and Land transportation online 7-11 March and 3D Bioprinting in Space on 15-16 March in Bremen.
