Private foundations with a research funding strategy support COVID-19-related research

A number of private foundations with a research funding strategy have been quick to support COVID-19 research projects.

In Denmark, private foundations that play a major role in funding research projects for the common good have also played a major role in funding non-profit, COVID-19-related research projects. Below you can find information - and links to further information - about some of the research efforts launched by private foundations. It should be noted that the list is not exhaustive. 

The Novo Nordisk Foundation:

The Novo Nordisk Foundation has allotted DKK 77.7 million to 44 projects that may help mitigate the health consequences of COVID-19 in Denmark and the rest of the unitary state. In addition, the Novo Nordisk Foundation has launched a number of other initiatives related to combating Covid-19.

Carlsberg Foundation:

The Carlsberg Foundation has allotted DKK 95 million to accelerate efforts to combat COVID-19.

The Lundbeck Foundation:

In March 2020, the Lundbeck Foundation earmarked
DKK 30 million to support researchers attempting to improve the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.
