Delivering secure, sustainable, and affordable energy for citizens and businesses is a cornerstone of the European Green Deal, with the increase of energy efficiency and the move to renewable sources to reduce emissions.

Investments in the European Union in energy transition and infrastructure as well as in energy system integration are part of the solutions, amongst others, to enhance energy security. The REPowerEU plan of the European Commission illustrates further the strategic importance of energy provision within the current geo-political setting.

Copernicus data is already being used operationally in the wind and solar power industry and other opportunities are unfolding for European electricity transmission system operators and other key actors in the energy sector at national and European level.

The workshop includes three sessions:

    • Session 1: Renewable energy production
    • Session 2: Energy transmission and distribution in Europe
    • Session 3: Energy efficiency, emissions and environmental impact
