Call for Interest to become a Member of the Payload Working Group for L4 covering the science theme “Moons of the Giant Planets”

L4 is the first large mission of the “Voyage 2050” – the next long-term plan of the ESA Science Programme. The theme of the mission is “Moons of the Giant Planets” with the aim to investigate the habitability of the oceans under the ice of the Saturn moon Enceladus. Deadline is 13 January 2025

The ESA Director of Science has issued a Call inviting science instrument experts, affiliated with institutions in the ESA Member States, to express their interest in becoming a member of the L4 Payload Working Group (L4PWG).

 

This Working Group will support ESA in elaborating, by mid-2026, the Strawman payload concept and technology roadmap on payload developments for 'L4', the first Large mission of Voyage 2050 covering the science theme "Moons of the Giant Planets". Interested experts are encouraged to visit the dedicated web page for the call (see link below), where relevant background information may be found, including the expression of interest submission form.

Deadline for submission of expression of interest is 13 January 2025 at 12:00 hrs (noon) CET.
