The Danish research reserve in 2023 and 2024 allocated funding for ESA’s General Support and Technology Programme, GSTP. On top ESA has allocated funding for Denmark through a Industrial Policy Task Force (IPTF) to correct the Danish geo-return and improve competitiveness.
This has enabled a call with three different funding options for the development of generic space technologies.
It is once again possible to submit applications for GSTP Element 2 Make projects to support innovation projects as well as projects building upon successfully conducted ESA activities. 1.6 million Euro has been allocated to GSTP Element 2 Make projects.
The 2024 call also opens up for applications to GSTP Element 1 compendia activities, which are ESA initiated activities in international competition. 2.4 million Euro has been allocated to GSTP Element 1 compendia activities, with a deadline for a Statement of Interest on 15 April 2024.
In addition, the call opens a new funding option from ESA, to correct the Danish geo-return (IPFT) and improve the competitiveness of Denmark for future space missions. 4.35 million Euro has been allocated to support such innovation projects as well as projects building upon successfully conducted ESA activities. Projects developing upstream space technology aiming at applications within all ESA programme areas (Earth Observation, Science, Exploration, Navigation, Telecommunication, Space Transportation and Space Safety) are welcome.
The deadline for IPTF call and GSTP Element 2 is the 20th of May.
A workshop on proposal writing along with introduction to GSTP will be held on 17th April 2024 to support the application process to all three elements and improve Danish competitiveness.
