The Space Safety Programme has been established to protect Earth, humanity and space assets from hazards originating in space. During the Space Safety Industry day, there will be introductions to existing and new programme areas, with a focus on the planned cornerstones as well as its small mission and projects aimed at responding to hazards through mitigation, prevention and remediation measures. The planned cornerstones are the following:
- The operational space weather mission, Vigil
- The planetary defense mission, RAMSES
- The ADRIOS (Active Debris Removal and In-Orbit Servicing) missions: Clearspace-1, Rise and Encore.
COSMIC, which is the Space Safety small missions and projects cornerstone, includes:
- Clean and zero debris future
- Technologies for a growing space traffic
- Predicting asteroid impacts
- Space weather services and sensors
- The competitiveness segment
