Resumé
Already today 30% of the cost of most products is due to transportation and delivery of goods to stores or end-users. The process is by far not optimized. There is a tremendous opportunity to consider new methods in optimization and algorithms.
The current estimate is that one easily could reduce supply chain costs by 25% which could result in a reduction in costs of 5-10% of everyday products such as food.
Denmark has a strong tradition both in container transportation and in food processing/delivery. This is an area where Denmark has both excellent basic research and the industrial partners to execute on new process.
