How do we improve student well-being and mental health in Higher Education? Two approaches!

A Drawing Room Conversation between two distinguished international experts and a small group of key stakeholders from Danish Higher Education.

  • Hvornår 26. april 2022 fra 18:00 til 20:00
  • Hvor Zoom-webinar

There is a symbiotic relationship between learning and student well-being. By improving the one, you can enhance the other - and vice versa. How can we approach this in Higher Education? We often focus on preventing a harmful student environment and general student well-being becomes a happy unintended outcome. Can we turn this around and make student well-being the intended outcome of a healthy and supportive study environment?

Ole Fogh Kirkeby, Philosopher and Professor Emeritus at Copenhagen Business School, will talk on aspects of Protreptics and personal development. Richard Miller, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and former President of Olin College, MA, USA, will talk about how institutions can raise the bar and start focusing on the identity, agency and purpose for students.

The event will be partly in English and partly in Danish and is part of the project "Designing a Happier Student Life for Better Learning". It is organized by the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science in collaboration with Innovation Centre Denmark in Boston and Silicon Valley.
