The call for local organisers for the 6th edition of the Cassini hackathon is now open. Deadline for applications to host a local hackathon is 8 June.

The CASSINI Hackathons are a series of semi-annual hackathons that tackle global challenges using European space technologies. Each hackathon is a hybrid event that takes place in 10 different locations across Europe simultaneously. The purpose to bring together young entrepreneurs, technologists, and researchers from around Europe and to provide an attractive environment to develop innovative applications and learn about the European space programmes. Participants will be supported with training resources and dedicated sessions on how to access these data and services and with training to publicly showcase their solutions. The three winners of each hackathon receive access to the CASSINI Mentoring, a tailor-made mentoring and coaching scheme.

EUSPA are now looking for partners who are motivated to support the next generation of space-based entrepreneurs by becoming a local organiser. The local organisers will co-organise the hybrid event on a local level, implementing the hackathon concept across Europe. This allows the local organisers to engage with the local ecosystem to solve important problems for industry and government with the power of space technologies.

The subject for the 6th edition is Space for International Development & Humanitarian Aid. Participants are challenged to create solutions that use European space technologies to support sustainable international development and help people in need. Better infrastructure, access to clean water and secure food supplies, as well as assistance in times of emergency are important to ensure vulnerable communities have the chance to thrive and grow.

The hackathon will take place 3rd - 5th October 2023.

Deadline call for local organisers is 8 June 2023. The application page can be found here
