New Copernicus satellite – Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich – to monitor sea-level rise launched on 21 November 2020

The satellite will provide critical measurements of sea-level change. Mapping 95 % of Earth’s ice-free ocean every 10 days, it will also provide crucial operational data for ocean forecasting. It is the result of the collaboration between EU, ESA, NASA, Eumetsat and NOAA with contribution from CNES.
